About
Chadi Ouanes (ChAD-O) is a photographer and visual artist whose passion for the arts and poetry was ignited at a young age. His travels, encounters, and cultural immersions have further fueled his creativity.
Contemplating both the external world and his inner thoughts, his ideas incubate in the depths of his mind and reveries. Eventually, he unveils a universe infused with subjective notions, symbolism, and dreams. Through his perspective, ChAD-O connects subjects with unconventional perceptions, bridging gaps between seemingly irreconcilable elements and often expressing his fervour for the imaginary.
When collaborating with others, he strongly emphasises empathy and emotional intelligence, fostering a creative process that exudes a therapeutic sense of self-affirmation.
In his works, Chadi delves into various themes, exploring topics such as individual freedoms, women’s prowess in the face of societal challenges, identity and gender, emotional well-being, and the aesthetics of artistic discipline.
Beyond his artistic pursuits, Chadi advocates for refugee rights and strives to find solutions to their plight, dedicating his efforts to a prominent international humanitarian organisation. Drawing from his profound human and cultural experiences in North, East, and West Africa, where he has resided for years, his artistic and narrative inspiration continues to flourish.
