For a landlocked country like Mali, a 1,287 km railway linking Bamako to the Senegalese capital city, Dakar, is an opportunity for commercial exCHAnge anD travel in a wOrld region where human displacement is a phenomenon and also the livelihoods’ backbone for millions.
This railway, established in 1924, has experienced a boom that lasted for decades before having its operations halted in 2018.
